The Organic Centre is a non profit organisation that promotes organic growing and sustainable living. Situated on a 19 acre farm in Co. Leitrim, the Centre also has has two outreach programs in Co. Clare and Co. Wicklow.

Looking for something fun and educational to do during your visit to Ireland? Visit the Organic Centre and attend one of the courses, volunteer, or simply enjoy a healthy and natural meal at the Grass Roof Cafe.

A great way to experience the centre for the first time is to come on one of the open days:

• The Garden Party on Sunday July 12th
• The Organic Food Week and Harvest Day 12th -18th of September
• The Apple Day Sunday October 4th
• Green Christmas Craft Fair Sunday November 29th

Volunteering

Volunteering is a great way to give back to the places you visit, and The Organic Centre provides many of opportunities to get involved, including helping grow and maintain plants, assisting with educational tours, and serving customers at the cafe and eco shop. Classes and Workshops

The Organic Centre offers a wide range of courses in organic growing and sustainable living. Whether you are looking for professional training or simply an introductory one-day course, the Centre has something for you. Topics include growing and gardening, food production, cooking, preserving health, natural energy, green building, and arts & crafts. Cafe and Eco-Shop

The Eco-Shop is filled with eco-friendly products for both your house and garden. Gardeners can find items such as books, seeds, gardening tools, and compost. Household goods include natural toiletries, toys, and fair-trade products. Visitors can also find organic vegetables, freshly baked bread, and organic sweets. A great resource is The Organic Guide to Ireland, a book with comprehensive listings of organic producers, retailers, wholesalers, and manufacturers in the Republic of Ireland and Norther Ireland.

The shop is open daily from 10am - 5pm and you can also shop online. The Cafe is only open at weekends from 10am - 4pm.
