The William Penn House is a hostel in Washington D.C. Located within walking distance to the Metro, the provides easy access to the downtown area. The William Penn House is also a Quaker center and runs seminars and discussions on issues such as peace and social justice.
The Hostel
The William Penn House offers shared rooms of 4-10 beds. Group reservations can be made at any time, but individual reservations cannot be made more than two months in advance. Beds go for $40-50 and include bed sheets, breakfast, and shower towels.

Activities
If you are staying at the William Penn House, make sure to include time for an all-levels yoga class with certified Anusara® yoga instructor Elizabeth Goodman. This class provides a space to realign, open, stretch, and energize for students of all bodies and abilities. Special $12 rate for William Penn House guests (cash only). If you have a little more time, take a break from the sights of the Capitol and head via the Metro's Red Line to the funky neighborhood of Takoma Park – one the U.S.'s few "nuclear-free zones" – for a yoga class at Willow Street Yoga Center. Elizabeth teaches a level 2 class at 8:30 am, which is suitable for intermediate to advanced students. If you are feeling sore and worn out from traveling and carrying your bags, check out Elizabeth's "Gentle and Therapeutics" class at Willow Street Yoga Center on Saturdays at noon. This class is sure to realign and restore you. Drop-in rate at Willow Street Yoga Center is $20. Sorry, no credit card payments.
